CLN BROKEN GLASS

‘Broken Glass’ comes from the mind of impressively well-versed electronic producer cln. The Australian released his debut album Dawn Chorus just a few months ago but is already working on big things for 2020. The first of those big things is this ambient work. Distant, crackling vocals are at the forefront but trap drums and alternations between various delicate keyboard/synth sounds. There are clear influences from the likes of Bon Iver and James Blake buried within, but cln is writing in a style all his own. He explains: “Broken glass is a reference to something that is shattered and cannot be restored. This song was written in response to the current state of the climate, particularly the bushfires that we are currently experiencing in Australia. It’s saddening to see politicians tiptoe around climate change issues and focus on financial gain at the expense of everything else”. Be sure to keep an eye out for more music as he gears up for another exciting collection in the coming months. -Dan Peeke
